In order to promote exchange on the theme of contact with nature, Aveyron and Hyogo signed an agreement on “joint efforts on economy, environment, academia and culture" in November 2000. The stone bridge in the village of Belcastel in Aveyron is named the “Aveyron-Hyogo Friendship Bridge.” In 2018, Hyogo loaned works of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art to the Soulages Museum in Rodez for the exhibition “GUTAI – Space and Time.” Moreover, in the wake of dispatch of Judo instructors to Aveyron, it has been agreed that the French national Judo team will stay in Himeji city for their training camp immediately before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As above, the two regions are developing proactive exchange activities.
