Overview of Indre-et-Loire Department, the French Republic

Exchange activities with Hyogo Prefecture

In April 1991, Konan Gakuen in Kobe, Hyogo opened the Lycée-College Konan de Touraine in France. In the wake of this opening, exchanges focused on education were actively carried out, and the Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education dispatched teachers to the school. In addition, the two regions have also been engaged in exchange in the economic field, including the holding of promotion events of Japanese sake from Nada-Gogo (Five Villages of Nada in Hyogo), running of the booth of the Hyogo Prefecture at the Tours Fair, etc.

Although the Lycée-College Konan de Touraine has closed, the Japan-France Society of Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire was established on the site and in October 2016. It concluded a friendship agreement with the French-Japanese Society of Kobe to promote mutual exchange.
