Exchange activities with Hyogo Prefecture
On November 18, 1997, the two regions signed a memorandum of understanding focused on the economic field, and exchange started to develop then. Hyogo Prefecture held economic seminars in Kiel in 2012 and 2017 to promote its attractions and strength for the development of a cutting-edge technology base and next-generation industries. In addition, Kobe University and Kiel University, as well as the Hyogo Prefectural International High School and the Humboldt School formed exchange partnerships with each other, respectively, to promote exchanges by developing homestay activities through a student exchange program.
